AEI provides students with access to an online student learning management system (LMS). Students access their learning materials directly in the LMS and can complete all assessment requirements at their own pace over the enrolment period.

Non-Accredited courses include activities with immediate results.

Qualifications are assessed using a blend of theory and practical assessments.

Theory Assessments include:

  • Online Activities (e.g. drag and drop, complete the sentence, etc.)
  • Multiple choice questions
  • Short answer questions
  • Essay questions
  • Projects

Students are given 2 options to complete their practical assessments:

  1. Video recording submission - students can record their practical assessment and upload the video directly to the LMS for our AEI assessor to directly assess.
  2. Third Party Observations - students who have access to a suitable Third Party Observer, can be observed and the Third Party Observation Report be uploaded to their LMS. If students wish to proceed with this method, they must seek approval for the Third Party Observer by the AEI Team.

No, students do not need to own their own horses, however when completing the Certificate II or Certificate III in Horse Care, all students must have access to three different horses for some of the practical assessments.

Practical Assessments can be completed in one of the following ways:

  • Filming your assessments and submitting them online.
  • Arranging for a third-party supervisor (such as a qualified instructor or employer) to verify the tasks - approval to be granted by the AEI team.

The Introduction to Horse Care is a non accredited, theory based course that does not require students to have access to horses while still allowing students to gain valuable and relevant knowledge on providing horse care.
